About the Radiation Therapy Department

Radiation therapy is an excellent treatment that places little physical strain on the patient and allows for the preservation of function and form. In our department, we treat all kinds of malignant tumors across multiple limbs, including lung cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. In addition to radical cancer treatment, we also actively provide palliative treatment, such as the elimination of pain caused by bone metastasis. We also work with other departments to provide treatment tailored to each patient, such as radiation therapy combined with chemotherapy and radiation therapy before and after surgery.

Cyberknife Treatment

Cyberknife was introduced in April 2011. Treatment will begin in June. Cyberknife is a robotic radiation therapy device that is expected to have excellent effects on patients who cannot be irradiated with conventional methods. It is possible to pinpoint irradiation of brain tumors, head and neck cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, etc. We aim to provide the best treatment in cooperation with the Neurological Center, Respiratory Center, and Digestive Center.

Treatment Equipment

We are equipped with one linear accelerator device, one cyberknife device, and one positioning X-ray/CT device, and perform treatment for all patients using 3D treatment plans.

Brachytherapy

For early-stage prostate cancer, we provide iodine-125 permanent implant brachytherapy in collaboration with Urology.

About the Nuclear Medicine Department

We perform nuclear medicine diagnosis using radioisotopes. We can perform tests on bones, endocrine system, brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, tumors, etc. We also have two SPECT machines, and can diagnose brain and heart function using SPECT tests.
