To the patient
In General Internal Medicine, we provide a wide range of general medical care across specialist fields for patients who visit our hospital for the first time with undiagnosed symptoms and are unsure which department to visit.
Diseases are systemic and often involve multiple organs. Even in cases where the disease does not belong to any other clinical department or where the disease spans multiple clinical department, we are able to diagnose early and provide effective treatment by utilizing diagnostics, one of the specialties of our department.
In addition, we often have the opportunity to treat infectious diseases and collagen diseases, which we also treat in our department.
If you have a persistent fever and no clear reason for it, or if you have received various prescriptions but have not gotten better, please come and see us.
For medical institutions
1. We treat all infectious diseases. In particular, please refer cases to us if there is a fever or inflammatory reaction, but the cause is unclear and it is unclear which organ-specific clinical department to refer to. We also treat cases with fever and other symptoms (lymph node swelling, rash, joint pain, diarrhea, etc.) where the diagnosis is uncertain. As a rule, common infectious diseases (pneumonia, urinary tract infection, cellulitis, etc.) are treated through consultation and co-examination by the patient's primary physician.
2. As part of our team medical care, we accept consultations on infectious disease diagnosis and treatment from all departments in the hospital. Through consultations, we provide high-quality, evidence-based infectious disease treatment, and we do our utmost to support our patients so that they can receive safer inpatient treatment.
3. We work closely with the infection control team to cooperate in preventing hospital-acquired infections and the appropriate use of antibiotics.
