As our hospital accepts many emergency patients, we place emphasis on preventive measures against bedsores.

Patients who are admitted to the hospital with existing pressure ulcers also need appropriate pressure ulcer treatment.
The Bedsore Prevention Office has established a Bedsore Prevention Committee consisting of various professions.
We are working to prevent bedsores, as well as to detect and treat them early, and to improve the quality of bedsore care.
Specifically, in cooperation with the Bed Sore Prevention Committee, bed sore rounds are conducted on the second and fourth Fridays of each month.
Evaluation of prevention measures and management of bedsores, evaluation of the state of bedsores and local evaluation, guidance and advice on care methods,
We provide conferences, and provide management guidance and advice after discharge.

Main Activities

1) Work related to the prevention and occurrence of bedsores
2) Collect and understand statistical data on the incidence and prevalence of bedsores in hospitals
3) Reevaluating treatment plans for patients at high risk for bedsores and providing guidance on improving care
4) Management and purchasing of supplies related to bedsore care
5) Conducting bedsore rounds
6) Holding study sessions at the Pressure Ulcer Committee
7) Creation of a manual for preventing bedsores

Bedsore incidence rate = Number of patients with new bedsores / Number of hospitalized patients at the end of the month + Number of discharged patients per month
Prevalence of pressure ulcers = total number of pressure ulcer patients / number of hospitalized patients at the end of the month + number of patients discharged per month.

Bedsore Prevention Committee

The Pressure Ulcer Prevention Committee holds regular meetings once a month to report on the incidence and prevalence of pressure ulcers, hold conferences for patients with difficult-to-treat pressure ulcers, and select equipment for preventing pressure ulcers, working in collaboration with various professions.

Our team consists of Dermatology, Cardiology, Psychiatry, Intensive Care physicians, Orthopedic Surgery surgeons, certified nurses for skin and excretion care, Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist Clinical Dietitian Pharmacist, Occupational Therapist, Biomedical Laboratory Scientist, and administrative staff.
