Infant hip examination
Is the baby's hip joint okay?
In this examination, hip dislocation is diagnosed for babies up to 3 to 7 months old. Many hospitals that perform similar examinations use roentgens to test for hip dislocation, but at this hospital, Orthopedic Surgery specialists use an ultrasonic diagnostic device (echo) that does not expose to roentgens to perform hip dislocation examinations. doing. Highly accurate checks are possible without being exposed to radiation.
First of all, visit once-Inspect the hip joint by the most advanced method with high-precision ultrasound (echo)-
Congenital hip dysplasia has decreased sharply to less than one-tenth of that before the 1970s due to the implementation of infant medical examinations by pediatricians nationwide. However, despite the fact that medical examinations have been conducted, there are cases nationwide where hip dislocation is diagnosed after the start of walking, treatment is delayed, and hip joint disease occurs in the future, which is a problem. We diagnose the condition of the hip joints of children 4 to 7 months old with an ultrasonic echo device that can confirm the condition of the hip joints with higher accuracy than X-rays, and we are working to prevent hip joint diseases in the future. Infant hip ultrasonography is common in Europe and the United States, but there are still few facilities in Japan where it can be performed, and hip joint specialists perform the examination.

If it is judged that there is a high risk of hip joint abnormality or hip dislocation based on the above medical examination, we will refer you to our hospital.
