Facility overview and history
About the Onshi Foundation Saiseikai
On February 11, 1909, the Emperor Meiji summoned the then Prime Minister Taro Katsura to a memorial service with the purpose of ``providing drug relief to people who are in trouble because they cannot receive medical treatment.'' The "Imperial Rescript on Saisho" was issued, and 1.5 million yen in cash was given. Based on this, the Imperial Gift Foundation Saiseikai was established on May 30 of the same year, with Imperial Prince Sadanaru as president and Prime Minister Katsura as chairman. After the war, on August 22, 1951, we were designated as a public medical institution, and on May 22, 1952, we received permission from a social welfare corporation and became the social welfare corporation Imperial Gift Foundation Saiseikai. Currently, the organization is headquartered in Tokyo and has branch offices in 40 prefectures under the leadership of Prince Akishino, chairman Yoshiko Shiotani, and chairman Shigeru Sumitani.
