About the Smoking Cessation Clinic
Supporting those who want to quit smoking
Since the Health Promotion Act came into force in 2003, prevention of passive smoking has been made mandatory. However, because smokers are dependent on nicotine, it is difficult for them to quit smoking even if they have the will to do so. Supporting smokers to quit smoking has become a social necessity in order to eliminate passive smoking, and outpatient smoking cessation guidance by a doctor has become covered by insurance. At our hospital, we hold a "smoking cessation guidance outpatient clinic" every Friday morning. For those who want to quit but cannot, we provide smoking cessation guidance as well as nicotine replacement therapy by administering smoking cessation aids.
Cases covered by insurance
- Thinking about quitting smoking immediately
- Have been diagnosed with nicotine dependence (TDS screening test score of 5 or more)
- Brinkman Index (number of cigarettes smoked per day x number of years of smoking) of 200 or more
- Written consent to receiving smoking cessation treatment
*If you do not meet the above conditions and receive smoking cessation treatment, you will be responsible for all expenses.
